USMNT Roster For June Friendlies Announced

24-Player Roster Features Mix of Veterans And Newcomers

CHICAGO, June 1, 2023

USMNT interim head coach BJ Callaghan has announced a 24-player roster for upcoming friendlies against Colombia and Ecuador. The roster features a mix of veterans and newcomers, as Callaghan looks to evaluate his options ahead of the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

The most notable inclusion on the roster is Christian Pulisic, who has been in excellent form for Chelsea this season. Pulisic will be joined by fellow attackers Gio Reyna, Brenden Aaronson, and Ricardo Pepi. The midfield will be anchored by Tyler Adams, Weston McKennie, and Yunus Musah, while the defense will be led by John Brooks, Antonee Robinson, and Sergiño Dest.

There are also several uncapped players on the roster, including goalkeeper Gaga Slonina, defender Henry Kessler, and midfielder Paxton Pomykal. Callaghan will be hoping that these players can impress and earn a place in the squad for the Gold Cup.

The USMNT will face Colombia in Carson, California on June 9th, before taking on Ecuador in Orlando, Florida on June 12th. These friendlies will be an important opportunity for Callaghan to experiment with different formations and tactics, as he prepares for the Gold Cup.

The full roster is as follows:

  • Goalkeepers: Matt Turner, Gaga Slonina
  • Defenders: John Brooks, Antonee Robinson, Sergiño Dest, Henry Kessler, Aaron Long, Joe Scally
  • Midfielders: Tyler Adams, Weston McKennie, Yunus Musah, Paxton Pomykal, Sebastian Lletget, Luca de la Torre
  • Attackers: Christian Pulisic, Gio Reyna, Brenden Aaronson, Ricardo Pepi, Josh Sargent, Haji Wright
